Membership
Members are the foundation of our 501C3 nonprofit corporation. Members receive quarterly newsletters
and those who provide e-mail addresses will recieve notices of special events.
SCHS members can vote, can serve on the SCHS Board of Directors if elected, and can serve on committees(see "Members Only" below).
In essence, members have a more direct voice in the activities and future of the SCHS
Annual Valentine
Annual membership dues play a significant role in helping the SCHS to provide our vital services
to pets, people and communities.
We express to you our gratitude if you are already a member and ask your help in recruiting others
to join.
Membership is an important key to attaining the goals that we aspire to on behalf of multitudes
of pets.

Board of Directors are each appointed a chairmanship of a "Standing Committee".
We would like to invite all SCHS members to read about the variety of works in progress..

Adoptions/Animal Care: This committee is responsible
for promoting, implementing, recording and providing reports on adoption activities.
This committee will also provide the Board with current information regarding the care
of the animals and present requests for financial support .

Board Development Committee: This committee
is responsible for the general affairs of the Board and ensures that it is doing its
job. May develop Board member job descriptions; recruit and recommend appropriate new
Board members; orient new Board members; discuss with Officers their views of the Board's
performance and ways to strengthen the Board; prepare slate of nominations

Community Outreach: This committee is responsible
for ensuring the SCHS presence in the community.Activities include but are not limited
to: public relations (media, government, business; education outreach programs;
participation at community events

Fundraising: This committee is responsible for
overseeing fund raising activities. This includes but is not limited to:establishing
a fundraising plan consistent with needs incorporating a series of vehicles such as
special events, direct membership solicitation, corporate solicitation product sales,
etc.and ensuring involvement of all Board members in fundraising.

Governance: This committee reviews all printed
or published written materials pertaining to the Society. It writes or revises, proofreads,
and makes suggestions on the Bylaws, constitution, brochures, policy manuals, and other
written documents as needed.

PR: This committee is responsible for conducting annual
membership drives, maintaining current lists of members and friends, promoting volunteer
involvement; education outreach programs and special events.
Future projects should be developing and maintaining the Society's website and volunteer
program

Second Chance Store: This committee
is responsible for the management and operations of the resale store. Activities
may include: solicitation of donations, merchandise selection and display,staff selection,
training, communication and recognition.

Shelter Developement: This committee is responsible
for presenting design plans for review and discussion, creating a project manual for
cost basis, planning a Capital Fund Drive and providing needed data for grant applications

Spay/Neuter Services: This committee will manage
the staffing,oversee the operations and determine guidelines for subsidizing and promoting
the spay/neuter clinics
