ON-GOING PROJECTS
Paws
in the Projects
Volunteering is one of the best things that a person
can do for themselves. There is first the satisfaction that
comes from lending a helping hand. Volunteers have an
opportunity to meet some fine folks they might not have
otherwise. When volunteering for SCHS, we will strive to
have fun as we get the many jobs done. So, come on -
get your paws into some of our projects!
Animal Care
Just as with any dependent being, our brood needs a great deal of care.
Most days, the most that can be done is to keep up with feeding, watering
and cleaning.
The cat lady and the dog lady would welcome any willing helper with
open arms. Brushing, petting, walking or playing would be such welcome
treats to our entire tail-wagging bunch

Cans for Critters
There are many within this organization who have been acting a bit like racoons.
They have been seen picking shiny things out of trash barrels on more than one occassion
Actually, such persistence paid off with a trailer filled with aluminum cans!!!
Roger Dunham is the "CanCzar" of SCHS. If you would like to join him
in his efforts to collect as many cans as we can the answer is: Yes! You CAN!!!
Any aluminum can you can collect and bring to SCHS's trailer on TD's parking lot
is a gift to our animals!
You can
__set up a can to collect the cans at any large gathering
__encourage your neighbors and friends to save theirs
__look for places that would be good collection spots
__become part of the team by making pick-ups at such spots

It will take many volunteers to make this years' the BEST ever!
Please consider becoming involved. perhaps in these ways:
Silent Auction Items - donations/solicitations
Bake Goods for the Bake Sale
Cakes for the Cake Walk
or contact Gene & Laura Graves by phone 746-4500 or e-mail : GGranch@mvtel.net
.
Second Chance Shop
The shop is located at 210 West Main and is open
Monday thru Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m
Dependable, friendly and out-going volunteers are key
to the continuing success of this project.
You may volunteer to work from two to four days a month.
We try to have two volunteers in the shop to:
- wait on customers
- answer questions
- sort, clean and price donations
- dust and tidy up the store.
You will meet a lot of people; both locals and visitors and
have a chance to show them what a friendly bunch of pet-loving folks we are!
